Today we went for the day to Elafonisi.
Elafonisi is an island located close to the southwestern corner of the Mediterranean island of Crete, of which it is administratively a part, in the regional unit of Chania. When the weather is fine it is possible to walk to the island through the shallow water. The island is a protected nature reserve.
From Kalyves to Elafonisi is almost a two hours drive.
It was really beautiful, to be honest Elafonisi reminds me Elafonisos, which is a small Greek island between the Peloponnese and Kythira.
Here are some pictures.
Pink sand.
After spending our entire day to Elafonisi, we went for the afternoon to Stavros.
Stavros is a village and beach in the Akrotiri district of the city of Chania, Crete. The beach and surroundings was the place where in 1964 Michael Cacoyannis partly made the movie Zorba the Greek with Anthony Quinn.
Here are some pictures.
We had a lovely time at Paradisio Baby & Kinder Hotel with family and friends.
